Iwamoto, Yukio
Yukio Iwamoto joined the research group of Prof. Elena Aikawa at CICS in January 2018. He is a 6th year medical student at the Medical School of the University of Heidelberg (Germany). Prior to joining CICS, he conducted medical research on breast cancer screening in the Institute of Public Health in Heidelberg and worked with GI cancer-derived 3D organoids at the Technical University of Munich (Germany). Furthermore, he worked as a management consultant on the introduction of new indications for a cardiovascular drug. His research activity is driven by a deep interest for treatment improvement in degenerative aortic stenosis by targeting novel cellular pathways. He is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
