Esmee is a biomedical engineering student at Eindhoven University of Technology, where she is focused on regenerative medicine and tissue engineering. Last year, Esmee finished her thesis on development of a microfluidic platform into vascular response to mechanobiological stimuli.

At CICS, Esmee is an intern and together with Dewy van der Valk, are looking into signalling pathways in the development of calcifications in tissue engineered heart valves using proteomics.
