Okada, Takeshi
Dr. Takeshi Okada is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at the Center for Interdisciplinary Cardiovascular Sciences (CICS) in the Cardiovascular Division of Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School. He obtained his MD from Osaka University in 2006. Since then he has been working as a general cardiologist as well as a clinical lipidologist. In 2018, he completed his PhD at Osaka University Graduate School of Medicine, where he focused on lipoprotein metabolism and HDL functionality using HPLC and shotgun proteomic analysis. After obtaining his PhD, he was engaged in genetic testing with NGS and treatment of patients with primary dyslipidemia including familial hypercholesterolemia and sitosterolemia. He joined Dr. Masanori Aikawa’s laboratory in May of 2022. Currently, he is investigating the role of macrophage activation with cutting-edge trans-omics approaches and exploring new therapeutic targets against atherosclerosis.
